Anges

Sirens sing and others respond.
It is a hot summer day, passing tourists pay little attention to mermaids singing on a cliff, in the distance Angels respond: who knew, at the time, how far the vibration could go.
In Paris, the notes merge into the synchronized harmonies of the three musician muses who now embody this gentle tango. The Angels play and dance.

Roberta Roman Trio

Italian guitarist Roberta Roman is one of the most eclectic musicians on the international scene. This is evidenced by her beginnings in contemporary classical music as soloist in the Mexican orchestra Pro Arte, up to her latest tango research projects that bring together musicians from different cultures and nationalities. In particular, for over 20 years with her all-female trio, she has been harmoniously blending her classical guitar with bandoneon and cello.
The trio’s repertoire not only reveals the intimate raison d’être of the tango, but also weaves a link to the present by offering creations written for the ensemble. The deep meaning, and above all the emotional commitment, is made real by the natural grain of the acoustic sound.

“Through the natural grain of the acoustic sound, the originality of the Trio lies in its refined melodies, rhythms and harmonies. Its interpretative solutions combine irony and sensuality, sobriety and sentimental abandonment, energy and delicacy.” (LA REPUBBLICA)
Roberta has performed on prestigious stages such as the Théâtre National de Chaillot, the Théâtre Saint Germain en Laye, the Atrium de Chaville, in France, as well as at the Amphitheatre of Catania, the Metropolitan of Palermo, the Idroscalo of Milan in Italy, the Théâtre de Bellinzona in Switzerland, the Théâtre de Querétaro and the Théâtre de Bellas Artes in Mexico.
With the trio Roberta participated in the film production “Démokratia” by Malek Bensmail, broadcast on the Arte television channel. Her concerts have been broadcast live on Mexican television, Radio France, Rai 3 and Rai 1.

Numerous collaborations during live concerts with internationally renowned artists, including Juan Carlos Caceres, Gotan Project, Richard Galliano, Duo Assad, Pedro Soler, Raoul Barboza, Cesar Stroscio, Pink Martini, Badi Assad, Sharon Isbin.
Roberta’s passion for research and history is now behind her new project, T4N0, which rediscovers the link between the origins of the tango and Neapolitan song, and a recording of which with rapper LUCARIELLO was chosen for the Netflix series Gomorra. The Neapolitan language of rapper LUCARIELLO (composer of GOMORRA film’s credits) dances with acoustic instruments.

Parallel to her life as a concert pianist, she is passionate about teaching. A graduate of the Milan Conservatory, she holds a master’s degree 2. She is currently a full PEA professor at the Erik Satie Conservatory (Bagnolet).

After the first album “T4NO, tango napoletano”, “La Petite Naples, l’opération Sultan” represents the second part of my work on the influence of Napolitan culture and music in the world. It aims to highlight the relationship between two cities in the Mediterranean basin: Naples and Marseille. Marseilles, a stopover city on the long road to exile to the United States and Argentina, becomes for many Neapolitans a home port, then a home and finally a new homeland…

This project is not only artistic and musical. It is also social and ideological.
